Well, there’s a month left in the season, and Arlan and I are tied. I knew I should have picked Maine. Oh well. Last week, I went 15-10-2 (.592) while Arlan went 16-9-2 (.626). On the year, we are 241-91-34 (.704).

Friday, Feb. 6

Brown at Dartmouth
Candace: The Big Green have been inconsistent, but they are at home. Dartmouth 4-2
Arlan: Having won only once in its last 13, it’s safe to say Brown is in a rough patch. Dartmouth 5-2

Yale at Harvard
Candace: Yes, it’s a trap game with BC looming on Tuesday, but I can’t vote against the Crimson. Harvard 3-2
Arlan: Two words: trap game. Harvard 4-2

Colgate at Princeton
Candace: Colgate looked really good against Cornell, but I still think Princeton wins. Princeton 3-2
Arlan: The good news for Colgate is that Emily Fulton does not play for the Tigers. Princeton 3-1

Cornell at Quinnipiac
Candace: Because I have to pick against Arlan in at least one game. Cornell 3-1
Arlan: I get the sense that the Bobcats will either win a low-scoring, one-goal game or lose by four. Quinnipiac 2-1

Connecticut at Boston College
Candace: Wherefore art the Eagles offense? Boston College 4-1
Arlan: There have been years where the Eagles would lose a game like this, but even then, you never saw it coming. Boston College 6-0

Providence at Northeastern
Candace: The Huskies further solidify home ice for the Hockey East tournament. Northeastern 4-2
Arlan: Two teams that looked good enough in losing to BC that it makes you wonder why they sometimes look so bad. Northeastern 4-2

Friday-Saturday, Feb. 6-7

Penn State at Lindenwood
Candace: Penn State doesn’t do well on the road, but I think they’ll be extra motivated to stay close to Mercyhurst. Penn State 3-1, 3-2
Arlan: Lindenwood limited the Nittany Lions to 11 shots in winning the most recent game in Pa. Penn State 2-1, 3-2

Mercyhurst at RIT
Candace: I assume these games will be close, but think the Lakers win both. Mercyhurst 3-2, 3-1
Arlan: Nothing like a series matching two teams whose primary goaltender didn’t make it to the end of her most recent start to ramp up the variance. Mercyhurst 3-1, 1-0

Robert Morris at Syracuse
Candace: Robert Morris has looked better of late, Syracuse hasn’t, and if I pick a sweep, I’ll get at least one game right. Robert Morris 3-2, 3-1
Arlan: Sometimes we accuse the Colonials of being inconsistent, but I have to say they are consistently one of the most unpredictable teams in the land. Syracuse 3-2, Robert Morris 2-1

St. Cloud at Bemidji State
Candace: The Beavers should get back to their winning ways. Bemidji State 3-2, 3-2
Arlan: The Beavers make their 2015 home debut coming off of yet another bye week. Bemidji State 3-1, 4-0

Minnesota State at Ohio State
Candace: Minnesota State finally got a conference win, but Ohio State is a better team and at home. Ohio State 3-2, 4-1
Arlan: The Mavericks are definitely improving, but it’s tough to pick a road team that ranks 33rd and 34th respectively in scoring and defense. Ohio State 4-1, 2-0

Minnesota at North Dakota
Candace: There is no percentage in betting against Minnesota. Minnesota 3-2, 4-2
Arlan: These teams could meet in a month in the same building; big crowd for Friday? Minnesota 2-1, 1-0

Minnesota-Duluth at Wisconsin
Candace: While I’m tempted to pick a split, I have to like the Badgers in this. Wisconsin 3-1, 2-1
Arlan: The Bulldogs need to find a win in Madison or Minneapolis, or they’ll lose control of their at-large destiny. Wisconsin 1-0, 3-1

Saturday, Feb. 7

Yale at Dartmouth
Candace: Yale won this pretty convincingly a month ago, but I think Dartmouth comes better prepared. Dartmouth 3-2
Arlan: These are the type of games where Dartmouth benefits from having Harvard as a travel partner. Dartmouth 3-2

Cornell at Princeton
Candace: The Big Red should take this one. Cornell 4-2
Arlan: The Big Red aren’t a very big favorite in this one, but after losing to the Tigers in the first half and seeing what happened to Harvard, they should be ready. Cornell 4-3

Colgate at Quinnipiac
Candace: These are the games Quinnipiac doesn’t lose. Quinnipiac 4-1
Arlan: This being Senior Night should ward off any potential letdown for the Bobcats. Quinnipiac 3-0

Vermont at Maine
Candace: Still wish I’d picked Maine last week to sweep New Hampshire. Maine 3-2
Arlan: Here is this week’s game that is most likely to end in a tie. Maine 2-1

Boston University at New Hampshire
Candace: The Terriers need a thorough win after getting spanked by Harvard. Boston University 4-1
Arlan: Based on the result versus Harvard, UNH is catching the Terriers at a bad time. Boston University 5-1

Sunday, Feb. 8

Connecticut at New Hampshire
Candace: Picking New Hampshire games just kills me. New Hampshire 3-1
Arlan: The Wildcats go for the season sweep. New Hampshire 2-1

Tuesday, Feb. 10

Northeastern vs. Boston University
Candace: I don’t know why the women’s version of the Terriers does so badly in the Beanpot, but I expect a win in this one. Boston University 3-2
Arlan: The Terriers do not play well in Beanpot games, but this one is much more crucial for them than it is for Northeastern. Boston University 4-3

Boston College at Harvard
Candace: It will be closer than the thrashing in November, but I think ultimately you’ll see the same result. Boston College 3-2
Arlan: Can I change my mind on Monday? Boston College 2-1
