OK, I promised to write another picks if I got one of my semifinals picks wrong, so here we go. Before we get into the nitty gritty though, I just want to say I think it’s pretty cool that I got the scores of BOTH games in the semifinals right in my last picks column. My crystal ball was just wrong in seeing the ECAC red and white team the victor over the Hockey East white and red team. I am now 192-60-24 (.739) on the year.

CHAMPIONSHIP: Boston University at Wisconsin: I guess I am going to make Puck169 happy with this one. Boston University has rebounded from a dreadful February in spectacular fashion, almost borrowing a page from the Jerry York “peak-for-the-playoffs” playbook. They are playing well, meshing solid defense with timely goal scoring. They’ve managed to almost shut down two of the most potent offenses in the East. They’ll need to do that in spades on Sunday. I just don’t see it happening. When Wisconsin needs goals, they have three of the best forwards in the game to go to. Kazmaier finalist Meghan Duggan was at her best again in a tough semifinal game with Boston College, providing the needed spark at the end. Wisconsin is deep, fast, and comes in waves. That’s not to say that they are poor defensively. They too shut down tough offensive teams in Minnesota-Duluth and BC. When all is said and done, I think the Badgers will hoist the hardware once more. Wisconsin 3, Boston University 1
