GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Drake Caggiula’s third-period goal gave No. 2 North Dakota a 5-4 victory over Western Michigan on Saturday and a series sweep.

The Fighting Hawks rallied from a 3-1 deficit to take a 4-3 lead with second-period goals by Bryn Chyzyk, Troy Stecher and Shane Gersich.

Nolan LaPorte tied the game for the Broncos later in the second period.

Matt Hrynkiw stopped 16 of 17 shots for North Dakota (28-5-3, 19-4-1 NCHA). He relieved starter Cam Johnson, who allowed three goals on four shots.

Lukas Hafner made 22 saves for Western Michigan (8-23-3, 5-18-1).
