After a solid sophomore season at Colgate, Chris Wagner has signed a three-year, entry level contract with the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks.

Wagner, a fifth-round draft pick of the Ducks in 2010, scored 17 goals and 51 points in 38 games this season for the Raiders.

That came on the heels of a nine-goal, 19-point freshman season.

“Chris is a great person who worked very hard on his game these past two years and his development as a player has been fun to watch,” Colgate coach Don Vaughan said in a statement. “Like most elite hockey players he has always had the goal of playing in the National Hockey League. At this time he feels he is ready for the next step in working toward that goal. I want to thank Chris for his two years at Colgate and wish him nothing but the best as he moves onto to his professional career.”

Wagner was plus-21 in plus/minus rating this season.
